Today we have deployed an update to the way OPSkins handles Valve-trade-locked items. This new update includes two new changes to the site.
The first change is that sellers will now be able to immediately list and sell CS:GO items on OPSkins Marketplace. Buyers will be able to purchase these trade-locked items immediately and store them in their OPSkins Inventory. However, buyers will be unable to withdraw the item(s) to their Steam inventories until the trade-lock is lifted. All trade-locked items now display the time remaining until the lock is lifted in the item listing box.
Buyers of these trade-locked items can keep them in their OPSkins Inventory for as long as they wish, or they may re-list them for sale, they just cannot withdraw them to Steam until the trade-lock has lifted. Once the trade-locks for these items expire, owners of the items will be able to visit their OPSkins Inventory and click “withdraw” to be sent a trade offer if they wish.
The second change being introduced in this update is to help buyers search which items are trade-locked by Valve. We’ve created a new search filter that will allow buyers to filter between trade-locked and non-trade-locked CS:GO items listed on OPSkins Marketplace.
These changes are designed to counter issues stemming from the recent update from Valve that enforces a 7 day trade-lock on all CS:GO items. Along with these changes we are also requiring that anyone using the ISales/BuyItems API endpoint with their API key send `allow_trade_locked: true` if they want to be able to purchase these trade-locked items. If you are not happy with the latest update from Valve, let them know by sending a nicely worded email to CSGOTeamFeedback@valvesoftware.com and let them know that you would like these latest changes reverted.
OPSkins is always working to improve the trading experience for buyers and sellers on our marketplace, so please let us know if you have any feedback on the new update.
