Today PUBG Crops has released their 2018 Roadmap outline of what players can expect to see coming to the game over the course of the next year. Over the last 2 years, the PUBG team has been hard at work building the base foundation of the most realistic battle royal game on the market. Moving further into 2018 the team plans to add to that foundation with the release of new features, such as the emote system and new maps like the newly announced 4×4 Island map.
Starting next month the new 4×4 island map will be deployed to the test server for the community to try out and to share their feedback on the new design. The new map will be roughly half the size of Engarel and will provide players with a much more intense and faster paced Battle Royal experience. Another 8×8 km map is also in the works for the game and will be released to the test server later in the year.
The team will also be adding in a brand new emote system. The new emote system will allow players to show off during the game or after pulling off a satisfying kill on opponents. The emote system will be hitting the test servers soon and the team will be looking for feedback and expanding on the range of emotes available in the game throughout the year.
New Guns, Vehicles, and Game Modes are also in the works; as well as a complete overhaul of the Third Person and First person animation systems.
Overall, 2018 is looking like it will be an exciting time for the PUBG community as the game continues to evolve over the course of the year.
