PUBG Event Mode

PUBG has announced a new event mode coming to the game. The event mode works basically as a periodically changing Custom Game that will offer new game types and parameters.

With Event Mode, players will be able to have new and unique Battle Royal experiences that are not available in the normal public matches. While the new mode may seem like custom game matches, Event Mode will feature new content that will be available for a limited time.

The first Event Mode playlist will be very simple and is designed to test the new system. Individuals will be able to play with up to 8 players in a team and the rifle drop rate will be double for the match. While it’s not a huge change from the normal game mode this is only the first Event Mode: and in the future, it will become more advanced featuring items such as the flare gun that will call airdrops onto your location.

Be sure to let us know what you think of the new PUBG Event mode and what game types you would like to see in future Event Modes by leaving a comment below.

PUBG 2018 Roadmap

Today PUBG Crops has released their 2018 Roadmap outline of what players can expect to see coming to the game over the course of the next year. Over the last 2 years, the PUBG team has been hard at work building the base foundation of the most realistic battle royal game on the market. Moving further into 2018 the team plans to add to that foundation with the release of new features, such as the emote system and new maps like the newly announced 4×4 Island map.

Starting next month the new 4×4 island map will be deployed to the test server for the community to try out and to share their feedback on the new design. The new map will be roughly half the size of Engarel and will provide players with a much more intense and faster paced Battle Royal experience. Another 8×8 km map is also in the works for the game and will be released to the test server later in the year.

The team will also be adding in a brand new emote system. The new emote system will allow players to show off during the game or after pulling off a satisfying kill on opponents. The emote system will be hitting the test servers soon and the team will be looking for feedback and expanding on the range of emotes available in the game throughout the year.

New Guns, Vehicles, and Game Modes are also in the works; as well as a complete overhaul of the Third Person and First person animation systems.

Overall, 2018 is looking like it will be an exciting time for the PUBG community as the game continues to evolve over the course of the year.
